Pack Setter irlandês (vermelho e branco): rcd1-PRA, rcd4-PRA, CLAD e Krabbe (leucodistrofia de células globoides)

Painel multidoença para o Setter irlandês (vermelho e branco) que agrupa quatro testes moleculares: atrofia progressiva da retina rcd1 (rcd1-PRA), atrofia progressiva da retina rcd4 (rcd4-PRA), deficiência de adesão leucocitária canina (CLAD) e leucodistrofia de células globoides (doença de Krabbe). Combina afecções oculares, imunológicas e neurodegenerativas.
Incidência
Setter irlandês e Setter irlandês vermelho e branco. CLAD: frequências de portadores em torno de 5 % nos EUA (Setter irlandês), ~7,6 % na Austrália (Kijas 1999) e até ~13 % no Setter irlandês vermelho e branco dos EUA (Foureman 2002). rcd1-PRA: forma clássica do Setter irlandês (OMIA000882-9615), reduzida após o uso do teste molecular (prevalência atual com dados limitados); não consta publicação específica no Setter irlandês vermelho e branco. Krabbe (GALC) e rcd4-PRA (C2orf71): documentadas no Setter irlandês; não consta publicação específica para o Setter irlandês vermelho e branco (dados limitados).

- Genotipar os reprodutores antes da cobrição; o painel cobre quatro condições numa única amostra\n- Para as quatro condições recessivas: não cruzar dois portadores — risco de 25% de homozigotos afetados; portador×livre é seguro para a descendência destinada à criação se for testada\n- A CLAD e a Krabbe são letais/devastadoras em homozigotos: prioridade absoluta em evitar o cruzamento portador×portador\n- Após um caso clínico confirmado, não repetir o cruzamento parental e comunicar o estado ao comprador

Verifique o painel exato que oferece cada laboratório. Exame ocular anual (ECVO) complementar. A CLAD suspeita-se em cachorros com infeções recorrentes e leucocitose; confirma-se por citometria (CD18) e teste molecular. A Krabbe suspeita-se por sinais neurológicos progressivos em jovens; diagnóstico por atividade da GALC em leucócitos e teste molecular. A rcd1-PRA é de início precoce e observa-se no cachorro/jovem.
