Description
Ehrlichia Canis Ab Test
Cat. No.: W81132
1. USES
The Ehrlichia canis Ab rapid test is a lateral flow immunoassay used to qualitatively detect anti-Ehrlichia canis antibodies in the dog’s serum, plasma or blood.
Time for analysis: 15-20 min
Sample: serum, plasma or blood
2. PRINCIPLE OF THE ANALYSIS
The Ehrlichia canis rapid test is based on a lateral flow immunoassay. It has a window with an invisible test zone (T) and a control zone (C). When samples are placed in the device hole, the liquid will flow laterally across the test strip surface. If there are enough antibodies against the Ehrlichia canis antigen in the sample, the T band will become visible. The C band will always be visible after applying the sample, indicating that the result is valid. This means the device can accurately detect whether or not Ehrlichia canis antibodies are present in the sample.
3. KIT COMPONENTS
5x metal foil bags each containing one cassette, one pipette and one desiccant.
1x buffer bottle for analysis (2.5 ml)
5x pipettes
5x centrifuge tubes
A product manual
4. TEST PROCEDURE
Collect a serum, plasma or blood sample (fresh or stored between 2-8ºC and usable up to the third day) and place it in the centrifuge tube.
Remove the cassette from the metal foil bag and place it horizontally.
Use the pipette to gradually place the serum, plasma or blood into the sample well.
Add two drops from the buffer bottle. Interpret the result after 15 minutes. Results after 20 minutes are considered invalid.
5. INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: Both C and T bands are observed. The result will be positive even if the T band is not well defined.
Negative: Only the C band is clearly observed.
Invalid: There is no band in the C zone, regardless of whether a T band is present or not. For the result to be valid, there must be a C band.
6. STORAGE
The kit can be stored at room temperature (2-30ºC). The kit is valid for 18 months; the expiration date is on the silver foil bag. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store in a place directly exposed to sunlight.
7. PRECAUTIONS
For optimal results, follow the instructions to the letter.
All reagents must be at room temperature before performing the analysis.
Do not remove the cassette from the metal foil bag until immediately before performing the analysis.
Do not reuse the kit.
Do not use the kit after its expiration date.
The components in this kit have passed quality control as a set. Please do not mix components from different lots.
8. LIMITATIONS
The canine ehrlichiosis rapid test is for veterinary in vitro diagnostic use only. All results must be analyzed together with all clinical information available to the veterinarian. For an accurate result, it is suggested to apply another additional method such as immunofluorescence. Rapid canine ehrlichiosis diagnostic tests are calibrated to detect titers equal to or greater than 1:256, so lower titers should be detected by other methods.
