Description
Test Ag Canine Parvovirus
Cat. No.: W81006
1. INTENDED USE
The Canine Parvovirus Ag rapid test is a lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of canine parvovirus in dog feces or vomit.
Assay time: 5-10 min
Sample: Feces or vomit.
2. PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY
The canine parvovirus rapid test is based on a lateral flow immunoassay. It has a window containing an invisible test zone (T) and a control zone (C). When samples are applied to the sample hole of the device, the liquid will flow laterally across the surface of the test strip. If there is sufficient parvovirus antigen in the sample, the T band will become visible. The C band will always be visible after applying the sample, indicating that the result is valid. This means the device can accurately detect whether or not canine parvovirus antigen is present in the sample.
3. KIT COMPONENTS
5x foil pouches, each containing one cassette, one dropper, and one desiccant.
5x assay buffer tubes (1 ml each)
5x swabs
One product manual
4. TEST PROCEDURE
Collect the dog’s feces or vomit with the swab. It can be collected from the ground or directly from the dog.
Insert the moistened swab into the assay buffer tube. Shake it to ensure an adequate sample has been extracted.
Remove the cassette from the foil pouch and place it on a flat surface.
Gradually add 3 drops of the extracted sample into the sample hole.
Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Results after 10 minutes should be considered as reference only.
5. INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: Both the C and T bands are visible. The result is positive even if the T band is faint.
Negative: Only the C band is clearly visible.
Invalid: No band appears in the C zone, regardless of whether the T band is present or not. A visible C band is required for the result to be valid.
6. STORAGE
The kit can be stored at room temperature (2-30ºC). The kit is valid for 18 months; the expiration date is printed on the foil pouch. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store in direct sunlight.
7. PRECAUTIONS
For optimal results, follow the instructions strictly.
All reagents must be at room temperature before running the assay.
Do not remove the cassette from the foil pouch until just before performing the assay.
Do not reuse the kit.
Do not use the kit after its expiration date.
The components in this kit have passed quality control as a batch. Please do not mix components from different lots.
8. LIMITATIONS
The canine parvovirus rapid test is for veterinary in vitro diagnostic use only. All results should be interpreted along with all clinical information available to the veterinarian. For an accurate result, an additional method such as PCR is suggested.
