The quality of the material as well as the correct handling of the sample sent to the laboratory will determine the reliability of the result. Each type of sample must be collected and stored in its corresponding container.

How to request the material

You can request our free material for sample collection and shipping by sending us an email to info@lbbarba.es, as well as through our website in your customer area.

In the Dr. Barba laboratory catalogue as well as in your customer area on our website, you will find the type and amount of sample required for each of your analyses.

Shipping the material

Once you have requested the sample collection material, you will receive it conveniently at the address we have on your file, or at the address you indicate to us.

Free of charge for our customers

This material is provided by the laboratory Dr. Barba free of charge (for other materials such as blood culture bottles or freezing boxes, ask us).

Tube with purple cap (EDTA, EB)

To obtain whole blood fill the tube up to the black mark on the label and mix gently. To obtain plasma for specific tests, centrifuge the sample immediately and pipette the supernatant plasma into a tube without additive.

Tube with blue cap (SODIUM CITRATE, CP)

Specific for coagulation tests. Fill the tube up to the black mark on the label, mix gently and centrifuge. Pipette the supernatant plasma into a tube without additive. Important: check the expiry date.

Tube with yellow cap (SERUM, S)

After the sample has coagulated, centrifuge. The separating gel will keep the serum isolated from the cellular component, so it does not need to be transferred to another dry tube.

Green cap tube (LITHIUM HEPARIN, HP)

Fill the tube up to the black mark on the label, mix with the blood immediately, evenly and gently. Centrifuge the sample and pipette the supernatant plasma into a tube without additive.

Swab without medium

Swab without transport medium: sterile swab for genetic analyses.

Swab with transport medium

Swab with transparent transport medium for microbiology and cytology.

Swab with charcoal transport medium

Swab with charcoal transport medium. Specific for culturing Taylorella.

Histology container

Contains formalin for shipping pathology samples.

Urine container

Transparent plastic container with blue cap.

Slide container

For shipping up to two slides per cytology or blood smear container. Shipping blood with EDTA or additionally extracted fluid is recommended.

Anaclín

Ideal for collecting stool samples. It can also be used for biopsies, urine and hair brushings.
