Leonberger Pack: Laryngeal Paralysis with Polyneuropathy Type 3 (LPPN3), Leukoencephalomyelopathy (LEMP), Leonberger Polyneuropathy 1 and 2 (LPN1 and LPN2)
146,57 € VAT incl.
Diseases included in this pack
Laryngeal Paralysis with Polyneuropathy Type 3 (LPPN3) (Autosomal recessive)
Molecular test for laryngeal paralysis associated with polyneuropathy type 3 (LPPN3), an inherited neuropathy that combines laryngeal dysfunction (vocal cord paralysis) with peripheral polyneuropathy with progressive signs. It affects the peripheral nervous system and the larynx, and compromises breathing, exercise…
Leukoencephalomyelopathy (LEMP) (Autosomal recessive (OMIA:001788-9615).)
Neurodegenerative disease characterised by spongiform degeneration of the white matter of the central nervous system, with progressive motor signs of juvenile onset. It is caused by variants in NAPEPLD and has been described in the Leonberger and the Rottweiler; the same Rottweiler variant has also been found in the…
Leonberger Polyneuropathy Type 2 (LPN2) (Autosomal dominant with incomplete penetrance.)
Molecular test for Leonberger polyneuropathy type 2 (LPN2), a peripheral neuropathy of adult onset and slower progression than LPN1, which produces limb weakness, muscle atrophy and, in some cases, laryngeal involvement. It affects the peripheral nervous system and compromises exercise and quality of life. The test…
Leonberger Polyneuropathy Type 1 (LPN1) (Autosomal recessive (OMIA classifies it as probably autosomal recessive). Homozygosity of the deletion is associated with the severe juvenile-onset phenotype; the effect of heterozygosity is not fully clarified.)
Hereditary polyneuropathy of the Leonberger type 1 (LPN1), a mixed peripheral neuropathy of juvenile onset, chronic and progressive, presenting with generalised weakness, hypotonia and muscle atrophy (especially of the pelvic limbs), decreased or absent reflexes and laryngeal paralysis with inspiratory stridor. It i…
Frequently asked questions
What does this pack include?
It includes 4 hereditary disease tests: Laryngeal Paralysis with Polyneuropathy Type 3 (LPPN3), Leukoencephalomyelopathy (LEMP), Leonberger Polyneuropathy Type 2 (LPN2), Leonberger Polyneuropathy Type 1 (LPN1). All are analysed in our laboratory.
What do the results mean?
The report shows the genotype and inheritance pattern of each variant. It is a breeding-decision tool: it guides which crosses to avoid, it does not guarantee the absence of disease.
How is the sample taken?
Buccal swab or 0.5–1 ml EDTA blood. The kit ships free to Spain, the EU and the UK.
