Pack Setter irlandés (rojo y blanco): rcd1-PRA, rcd4-PRA, CLAD y Krabbe (leucodistrofia de células globoides)

Panel multienfermedad para el Setter irlandés (rojo y blanco) que agrupa cuatro pruebas moleculares: atrofia progresiva de retina rcd1 (rcd1-PRA), atrofia progresiva de retina rcd4 (rcd4-PRA), deficiencia de adhesión leucocitaria canina (CLAD) y leucodistrofia de células globoides (enfermedad de Krabbe). Combina afecciones oculares, inmunológicas y neurodegenerativas.
Incidencia
Setter irlandés y Setter irlandés rojo y blanco. CLAD: frecuencias de portadores en torno al 5 % en EE. UU. (Setter irlandés), ~7,6 % en Australia (Kijas 1999) y hasta ~13 % en el Setter irlandés rojo y blanco de EE. UU. (Foureman 2002). rcd1-PRA: forma clásica del Setter irlandés (OMIA000882-9615), reducida tras el uso del test molecular (prevalencia actual con datos limitados); no consta publicación específica en el Setter irlandés rojo y blanco. Krabbe (GALC) y rcd4-PRA (C2orf71): documentadas en el Setter irlandés; no consta publicación específica para el Setter irlandés rojo y blanco (datos limitados).
Manejo del criador
- Genotipa reproductores antes de la cubrición; el panel cubre cuatro condiciones en una sola muestra
- Para las cuatro condiciones recesivas: no cruzar dos portadores — riesgo del 25% de homocigotos afectos; portador×libre es seguro para la descendencia destinada a cría si se testa
- La CLAD y la Krabbe son letales/devastadoras en homocigotos: prioridad absoluta en evitar el cruce portador×portador
- Tras un caso clínico confirmado, no repetir el cruce parental y comunicar el estatus al comprador
- Para las cuatro condiciones recesivas: no cruzar dos portadores — riesgo del 25% de homocigotos afectos; portador×libre es seguro para la descendencia destinada a cría si se testa
- La CLAD y la Krabbe son letales/devastadoras en homocigotos: prioridad absoluta en evitar el cruce portador×portador
- Tras un caso clínico confirmado, no repetir el cruce parental y comunicar el estatus al comprador
Notas del especialista
Verifica el panel exacto que ofrece cada laboratorio. Examen ocular anual (ECVO) complementario. La CLAD se sospecha en cachorros con infecciones recurrentes y leucocitosis; se confirma por citometría (CD18) y test molecular. La Krabbe se sospecha por signos neurológicos progresivos en jóvenes; diagnóstico por actividad de GALC en leucocitos y test molecular. La rcd1-PRA es de inicio temprano y se ve en cachorro/joven.
